North Vancouver has a small but steady Korean scene, concentrated along Lonsdale Avenue and in the Lonsdale Quay area. 5–10 Korean restaurants total, serving a local North Shore Korean-Canadian community smaller than the Tri-Cities but real. Format is family-dining BBQ, mid-price jjigae and bibimbap, with a few Korean cafes and bakeries mixed in.
The geographic separation from Koreatown matters. North Shore Korean residents can cross the Lions Gate Bridge and hit North Road in 35–40 minutes in good traffic, but the crossing time makes everyday Korean dining a local affair. The local North Shore spots are the weeknight answer; the Coquitlam trip is the weekend outing or the multi-household group dinner.
For visitors to the North Shore (Capilano, Grouse, Lonsdale Quay tourism), the Korean dining options along Lonsdale work as a lunch or dinner pairing. Prices are comparable to mid-price Vancouver Korean and meaningfully cheaper than Robson downtown.
Where to look
Lonsdale Avenue between Keith Road and 29th Street. Lonsdale Quay area for waterfront-adjacent options. A handful in Edgemont Village. Rare in Lynn Valley, Deep Cove, or the West Vancouver commercial areas.
